The Italienische Handelskammer München-Stuttgart has organized an extra virgin olive oil tasting seminar at Eataly in Munich, in collaboration with the trade magazine Merum.

The food&wine operators and the specialized journalists who attended the event, were invited to taste 10 different oils, some of excellent quality, others instead of very low quality, easily available in various supermarkets. The tasting was led by the industry expert Jobst von Volckamer, who has decades of experience in the world of olive oils. The main objective of the initiative was to sensitize the participants about the distinctive characteristics of a good quality oil, through a sensory tasting path that involved not only the taste, but also the sense of smell, which allows to recognize the quality of an oil.

At the end of the seminar the guests took part in a tasting of authentic Italian culinary specialties.
